About this Tours

The Route

Three days in the Kathmandu Valley take in Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, Patan, and Bhaktapur. The drives between them are short. The time is spent in the squares.

What You’ll See

Two large stupas, three palace squares, and the temples along the Bagmati at Pashupati. Morning light is the good hour on the Swayambhu hill.

Day by Day

Walking, and short drives. One square can fill a morning. You take your shoes off at shrines, and midday gets crowded.

People & Places

These are Newar towns people still live in, not a row of museums. Patan is courtyards and metalwork. Bhaktapur is an open square. Kathmandu is the densest.

Why This Trip

You choose these three days when the valley World Heritage sites are the point, and you are not adding a trek.
