About this Treks

The Route

The Tamang Heritage trail adds Gatlang, Tatopani, and Briddim to the Langtang valley. It is the same as far as Kyanjin Gompa. You pass the old villages on the way in or on the way out.

What You’ll See

The mountain is Langtang Lirung. What this route adds is the stone villages on the west side of the valley, and the hot spring at Tatopani.

Day by Day

About two weeks. Not every day goes uphill. Some days you walk between villages. It is better to keep the rest day at Kyanjin.

People & Places

Tamang houses and wood carving. On the heritage side, homestays. In the Langtang valley, teahouses. You need the national park permit and a licensed guide.

Why This Trip

Choose this when you want the mountain in Langtang, and also the villages that a shorter valley trek only drives past.
